T.W. Plummer & Son is a family run haulage business in its 3rd generation.
We offer many services for the haulage industry. No job is too small or too big. We listen to our customers and tailor our transport to the customers needs, as we care.
Our Fleet
We have a modern fleet of all volvo trucks meeting the latest Euro 6 emissions ensuring we as environmentally clean as possible.
Now with 3 Truck mounted forklift curtainsider trailers, providing us with a total of 6 curtainsiders and flat trailers. The versatility of our fleet means we can cater for almost any load, we will adapt to our customers needs to find a transportation solution.
Our Heritage
The business was started by Thomas William Plummer, our grandfather, and his wife Mary. With one very small lorry in 1937. Operating within 20 miles of Plumpton for the local farmers. Back then, the business focussed mainly on livestock haulage. Our grandfather had three children, Marguerite, Janette and Ernest, whom of which where all involved in the business. Moving livestock and agricultural materials all over the south of England.
As the livestock farming declined in the late 1980′s, the business adapted to changing times and a shift to general haulage started.
In the late 1990′s Ernest’s son Jonathan started to work for the firm delivering building materials all over the UK, and we now regularly transport general haulage into Europe. Ernest continues to work, having moving from livestock to scrap metal transport.
